Step1. Check for a pulse
Not sure how you feel your life is going today? Try this diagnostic tool.
Step 1. Check you are still alive – is there a pulse? If Yes – continue to step 2.
Step 2. Is God still supplying oxygen? Take a deep breath.
If Yes – go on to step 3.
If No –you have minutes to set your affairs in order – so get to it.
Step 3. Look out the window. Is God still in control of gravity and governing all the laws of science and nature?
If Yes – continue to step 4.
If No – you may be dreaming or hallucinating or dead. Return to Step 1 immediately.
Step 4. No matter what has gone wrong or how you have failed in the past, if you have completed Step 1, God still has a good plan and purpose for your life.
Proceed to Step 5.
Step 5. Choose whose plan and purpose you wish to follow.
If you choose to follow your own plans, go to Step 6.
If you choose God’s plan, go straight to Step 7.
Step 6. Good luck-if there is such a thing! You’ll need it.
You may want to start stockpiling oxygen tanks in case of a breakdown at step 2. And perhaps strap down anything you want to keep from sailing into orbit in case of break down at step 3. In fact, you should probably spend the day scurrying around preparing for any and every potential change of circumstance self-inflicted or otherwise.
Consider choosing Step 7 or return to Step 1.
Step 7. God is for you! Your life has divine purpose.
God has prepared your steps today and his love for you is complete, his grace is overwhelming, his mercy is new today and inexhaustible tomorrow, his faithfulness is attentive to you and his power is available to you. Everything that happens in your day, good or bad, will be turned for your advancement and eternal profit. Jesus is interceding for you, Holy Spirit is counselling you, and your Heavenly Father is providing for you.
Take a deep breath.
Take the next step.
“This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Ps.118:24
