I may not exactly look like an Old Testament Israelite, but I sure act like one sometimes.
Let's go back to when God saved the Israelites from Pharaoh, delivered them out of Egypt, and led them to safety by parting the Red Sea with walls of water on either side of them. Talk about a miracle hey? One can only say that God truly loves His people and He would do anything for them. But then why all the grumbling?
Now in the wilderness singing, "Who is like You among the gods, O Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?" (Exodus 15:11) They sing songs of praise to God acknowledging Him for who He is but 12 verses later it says, "So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?"
Really? That fast? God parts the Sea and their worried about not getting an iced tea?
Let's bring this to modern day. Sunday morning rolls around, awesome Praise and Worship, glorifying and lifting the name of Jesus, proclaiming He is our Protector, our Healer, our Restorer and our Provider...and then Monday hits. "Oh God where are you? Where have you gone? It would be better if we just stayed non-believers where it was "easier".
No, No, No! That has to change. That has to disappear. The same has to come out of our mouths on Monday through Saturday as it did on Sunday!
God loves us, He protects us, heals us, restores us, provides for us and more...EVERYDAY! God hasn't changed, God isn't changing and God will not change, and so should what comes out of our mouths. How we praise Him on Sunday must continue...always!
Why would we rather grumble and mumble, than raise and praise?
