Here in Canada, braving the cold to start our vehicles in -25C weather is not all that "fun".  Especially when you realize you slammed the door shut behind you, without a jacket and now have to run halfway around a rather large building to get back in. I would know.  I just did that today.  It was not fun at all.

This brings to memory all those times when God called out to me.  He pointed out ways for me to step out of my comfort zone, into the unknown and into what He has planned for my life.  Whether it was trying something new, something small or even something crazy, I usually get an impression from Him to just GO!  Often there were times where I couldn't go and try it out for awhile and if I didn't like it just come back.  No, it was more like go, slam the door behind me and don't look back.

Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
Do you remember when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because the sin of those cities was so immense?  Before he rained down burning sulfur on the cities, he sent Angels in to rescue those who were deemed righteous in the eyes of the Lord.  There weren't very many of them though.  In fact it was just Lot, his wife and they're family.  They had an opportunity to flee to a nearby town and they took it.  But as they were fleeing, Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt.  Sound harsh?  Yes it was but God was just trying to protect them.

After walking out the things God set me to do, I can honestly say had I stayed in my places of comfort, I may not have died or turned into a pillar of salt, I would not be walking as close as I do with God and I certainly would not have grown as much as I have to this day.

Question
Are you at the door looking out wondering if you should step out?
If you are, I suggest you go ahead and take a step, slam the door and DON'T look back!   God is good.  He is leads us in hope and into our future.

Stepping out can be a hard thing. But ultimately it's where you put your trust that will determine your outcome.

I am at a door in my life wondering if I should stop out into a new challenge. Spending time in prayer and trusting God to guide me into the next step of the journey. Your blog is good and reminded me that sometime we just need to step out in faith, slam that door and Don't look back. God is good and I can trust Him for my future plans and hopes.
