Pastor Dale

by Pastor Dale Aceron

Just the other day I had a good discussion with one of my kids.

And the reason why it was good was because I found out some information that I didn't know, but needed to know.  It wasn't a punishment or a discpilinary talk, it was more of an "open your heart" talk, which I recommend all parents do from time to time.  These are the times when I lean even more on God's guidance as a parent because He is the perfect parent.

The conversation was basically about how my child did not feel worthy, and that nothing they do matters and on and on about things that are the exact opposite actually.  Because I had no idea what they were going to say, I was both floored and heart broken when I heard it.  I proceeded to tell him these were lies from the devil and they simply were not true.  As we were talking I asked God for guidance in this siutation.  Through my mouth came out words of affirmation, praise, encouragement and love.  There was a positive shift in their composure and I think they received it well.  In addition, the next day I read one of the daily blogs I receive via email and it was everything that we had talked about.  It was so great!  It was confirmation that what I shared with my child was exactly what they needed to hear.  And now I want to share it with you below becasue it is good and I know that it will help you.

from Pastor Steven Furtick's Blog (http://www.stevenfurtick.com/)

The devil is a liar. That’s all he is, and he’s good at what he does.
He’ll tell you whatever he needs to tell you in order to trip you up, or keep you down.
And he’ll change up the delivery of his message depending on what you’re going through.
So when you’re suffering a trial, the devil will whisper a message of hopelessness to you.

He’ll say something like:
This will never end.

On the other hand, when you’re in a season of blessing, the devil will try to shake your confidence by telling you the exact opposite:
This will never last.

But trials do end. Joy comes in the morning. There is a mountain of victory on the other side of your valley.
And blessings do last. Even though seasons change, God’s favor is forever. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Don’t let the devil twist the truth.
Catch him in his lies, and stand on what God says.
