pastorjonathankrenzFaith.  We have it.  We want it.  We lose it.  We find it.  We are told to “keep” it.  We need it.  We use it.  We ask for God for more of it.

We hope that our faith will shield us from everything bad.  Unfortunately, that is not what God promises regarding our faith.
What God does promise is that our faith, when put to action, will please God.  And given the option I would rather please God than avoid discomfort.  Exercising faith to please God is relating to him in genuine love and trust.  Exercising faith to avoid suffering is using God for my self-interest.

We’ve been learning these past weeks to put mere belief into action, and in so doing, build real faith.  Belief alone is not faith; rather, faith is action.

When we’re together to praise and worship our King and Creator in a corporate setting, we have the perfect opportunity to convert belief into faith.
Consider Psalm 100 and the concept of thankfulness.
Enter into His gates with [thanksgiving], and into His courts with praise. Be [thankful] unto Him and bless His name. Ps. 100:4 (KJV).
This is a well-known psalm that defines how we are to enter into God’s presence.
